     on 20+ hillside acres

     Cape Breton, NS, Canada

Nestled among the trees, by the pond, alive with birds and little critters ..... On 20+ acres of the Cape Breton Highlands hillside sits this completely renovated mini home and studio, together with large workshop, wood sheds, tool & equipment shed, gardens & garden shed.

The studio was initially designed to become a bachelor suite and can  readily be converted to provide rental income.

This year-round or vacation home is situated on 20 + acres of Cape Breton Highlands hillside overlooking the Northumberland Strait and the world famous scenic Cabot Trail.

No doubt most people will readily agree that the location of this property is its most attractive feature. Reached at the end of a mile long paved and well gravelled  side road one is drawn to enter the drive as it crosses the year-round stream and skirts the willow bordered pond. On either side mature white birch, spruce and old apple trees are home to a wide variety of colorful songbirds and other wildlife.

View to the West - the Northumberland Strait

Below, in the rolling valley with its farms and homes scattered along part of the Cabot Trail, is Meadow Lake . Beyond, to the  West toward Prince Edward Island, lie the waters of the Northumberland Strait. Many, many days end with flashes of gold, orange and red splashed across the horizon as the sun softly sinks beneath the cloud line into the blue waters of the Strait.

Six buildings which form the  focal area of the property:

- 1100 square feet main home, with its relaxing decks and water feature

- Separate studio/apartment (~400 sq ft) with elevated deck

- Spacious workshop (~400 sq ft)

- Roomy tool and equipment shed

- Two wood-sheds (One has windows - could be used as a green house)

Fresh, clear water flows from a perennial hillside spring and supplies the house while also feeding the stream and pond.

The “mature” garden beds provide a wide variety of ‘organic’ vegetables and colourful flowers.
